The Cafeteria
The Cafeteria

Another product of the 1937 renovation was a basement Cafeteria. The bright and cheerful art-moderne room was accessible via a stairway near the lobby's Bagley entrance.

The Cafeteria was the place to dine for those who were pressed for time or cash. The prices were moderate yet the service was just as excellent as that found in the more pricey Terrace Room and Cafe Rouge.

I have found no mention of the Cafeteria after the early 1960's. Whether it remained open or what became of the space is unknown at the time of this writing.
