Today Detroit can claim one of the greatest theater
districts in the world, even surpassing that of Chicago.
This is thanks to the City's economic downturns of the
70's and 80's that left many of its theaters intact, rather
then parking lots. As a result the Detroiters of today
can enjoy the same opulant movie palaces that their grandparents
enjoyed.
Unfortunately, one of these theaters still sits empty,
its potential unrealized. On the following pages you
will learn the story of the fabulous United Artists
Theater of Detroit.
